This is strange. This is very... strange.
[The feed opens on a teenage boy who honestly doesn't look like the picture of health; his hair is a mess, his skin is pale, and even though he's sitting, his posture has a certain slump that doesn't exactly imply "physical strength". Still, even if Nagito Komaeda's body is frail, his mind is still sharp as a tack. ...Well, usually. Sometimes. Depends on the context? Well, it's sharp right now, and that's all that matters.]
[He's silent for a few moments, apparently in deep thought.]
[The first and most obvious conclusion is that this is another ploy by Monobear. Last night, he'd watched the end of the third trial and went to sleep, troubled somewhat by what had happened... and now, not even twenty-four hours later, Monobear had dropped him in a Pokémon region of all places? Was this the motive? If so, why didn't he wait for someone to commit murder on their own first? Honestly, Komaeda can't think of any possible way Monobear could make despair out of the Pokemon world; even if he tried to corrupt it, it would only affect the people who have a strong emotional attachment to the originals. Komaeda could think of no one who might know them except Nanami and himself -- Nanami didn't seem like the killer type, and Komaeda honestly wasn't attached enough to care one way or the other. He honestly couldn't even recall the name of the bull thing he'd been given as a starter.]
[Speaking of Nanami... where is everyone? Komaeda had already tried looking through the network, which raised even more questions. If, again, it was Monobear who did all this, why would he go to the effort of writing so many different entries? Why were there actual people with varied personalities, and not an army of Monobears?]
[...Actually, the bear hasn't shown his face on anything at all so far. And quite honestly, that alarms Komaeda more than if it had. Had something... happened to them? Komaeda plans to find out. Depending on the reaction of the masses, who may be either Monobear's fabrications or real people, he'll get to the bottom of this mystery, just like all the others. First order of business: figure out what's happened outside.]
Oh, I should probably introduce myself...
Nagito Komaeda. That's my name.
Anyhow... has anyone here heard of Hope's Peak Academy? Please tell me what you know.

[Hang on, let him try again.]
Though I have only just begun my quest in this world, I have already bonded with my familiar! And it will only be the first of many to join the new Tanaka Empire!
[Okay, that sounded better.]
But tell me, what is it that you remember occurring last? What was the last event to be seared into your soul forever more?
[That should give him some sort of idea on how to proceed, he hopes. It's hard to tell with you, Komaeda.]
[Komaeda. Komaeda, please.]
Nanami-san already spoke with me about this. You've explored the fourth island, haven't you? I came from right after the trial prior to that... the one with Mioda-san. [Nanami's also told him to avoid mentioning Tsumiki's name in relation with the trial, so he refers to Mioda instead.]
So you lag behind, but not too far behind. Interesting.
[In comparison to himself, anyway. They're all lagging behind some of the others apparently.]
And yes, I have explored the fourth island and uncovered its mysteries!
[Some of them anyway. Before the whole knockout gas train ride thing. That sort of put a stop to any mystery solving for him.]
Mysteries, you say? Intriguing. What kind of mysteries?
[He already knows that there was an amusement park involved, but surely Tanaka's version of the story will be much more exciting... even if it doesn't strictly adhere to factual accuracy.]
[Which is about uh...four things for those playing along at home. Truly uncountable.
There's a little more, but he's not really sure if he should tell Komaeda about the book covering the events of the prior killing game. He'll defer to one of the people from further ahead on that one.]
[Mysteries beyond number indeed. The locked castle is probably exactly what it sounds like; the iron dragon might be some kind of metal sculpture; the house of horrors is standard-issue for an amusement park; the train of no return...]
Did you dare ride this 'train of no return', Tanaka-san?
[Sharing that shouldn't cause any problems.]
I happened to disembark in this world. As to the final destinations for the rest of the group, I cannot say.
[Video - HONORIFICS ARE HARD weh]
[Komaeda himself can't find anything past "have fun on your new Pokémon journey! :D" and to be perfectly honest, he doesn't believe it for a second. Even if some part of his mind knows that he was brought here solely because of luck, he also thinks there's got to be some other motive at work here.]
[Yeah, he's got nothing here.]
[Komaeda frowns. Admittedly he's only spoken to a few people so far, but they don't seem to have anything useful in the way of knowledge. He's sure that they didn't just slack off because finding the information was too hard; someone must be hiding it from them.]
So, Tanaka-kun. Have you been working at the Johto badges as part of your conquest?
[He'll just take a moment to think about how glad he is that this isn't Monomon and there's no Pikabear or anything like that.]
And while I have heard of such a challenge, I have yet to partake in it.
[He just got here a couple weeks ago, his Pokemon are underleveled, and he's sort of in Kanto at the moment, so there's a number of reasons why he hasn't gone after those badges yet.]
Though it is only a matter of time before the stars align and the time is right for my empire to lead me to victory over such an opponent!
[Video - I have no idea what he's saying anymore]
Of course, if you haven't started yet for other reasons, that's fine. But your empire will go nowhere without its driving force -- you!
[Video - It's okay I play Gundam so that happens to me often as well]
Obviously. Though hearing that from the likes of you is...
[He's not even sure which word to use here. Let him consult his mystical mental thesaurus for a moment, before giving up.
He'll try something different instead.]
An attempt to bolster confidence that one such as I does not require.
[Gundam knows his role in helping his animals. He doesn't need Komaeda and his crazy ass ramblings to remind him of it. Sorry about that, bro.]
[He seems legitimately happy to be put down like that.]
I'm happy that you're able to keep your hope pure on your own, Tanaka-kun. That will definitely take you far in life.
[Komaeda... what do you know about getting far in life...]
